Bon Voyage My Friends

Well... here we go folks. I am lying here on my bed, looking at what is on the floor ready to be packed. Everything is organized and strangely--- it's not much! Not sure if I am forgetting anything, but hoping I don't have too much! How does one pack for 6 weeks at sea? Guess the only way to figure it out, besides bugging Dylan a bunch, is to just do it! I just need to think of it like I did when I left Maine back in JAN13. I packed my hiking pack as if I was going to Hawaii, not sure if I was, even though I was spending 2 weeks in Arizona! It worked and now that pack... is going to Fiji and crossing the Pacific!
Saturday we had a little Bon Voyage party at Dylan and Michele's house. Before it started, I went over to drop off some things and Dylan and Jerry were out back. Jerry brings out the map, screws it into the deck he built, steps back and says to me, "That's a lot of blue Sarah, you ready?"
That's when it really started to hit me. It was great to share that quiet time with Dylan and Jerry. To see the voyage on a physical map. One that you can actually touch. One that's not on a computer screen. Wow... that really is a lot of Blue, a lot of paddling, a lot of sky, a lot of stars, no trees, no cell phones, no internet, no cars, no grocery store, no land, peace, waves, blue, ocean, wind, fish, adventure... My mind is still trying to wrap itself around it, but all I can do is listen to the wind blow right now, hear a baby crying next door and trying to pack in my mind.
All I can really say in trying to keep this short, I'm ready. I'm eager to learn, I'm eager to train and to be on the water with great Waterman, I struck it rich!
Now let's hope they don't throw me overboard... or better yet, sell me off for some tasty treasures! I love you all and follow us along on SAILBLOGS and share with your friends!

Gotta go folks... my pack's not gonna pack itself!

Love you and thank you all that are supporting my dream and following along the way!
