And... BREATHE!!!

Dozer, Little Izzy, Connor, Emma and Rowdy...  Usual Suspects in Haines

All is going well here in Skagway and the glacier life is treating the crew pretty well.  We have been having A LOT of weather days, more than last year it seems.  The crew is pretty much all new, but lots of fun... AND NOT PICKY!!!  That's a huge plus for me since I am doing the cooking.  I will try and touch on a bit of everything that has happened and catch you up on some points.
Went to Haines after being in Skagway for a bit to dog sit for Chris and Dan.  Came back to Skagway and got right back into the swing of things and flew up to the glacier with Matt and Willi.  We finished up putting together... what was not.  We put in the yards for the dogs, I got to put the kitchen together the way that would work best not only for me, but work for everyone else, worked on all of the huts for everyone that was coming up, and worked on the communication hut (comhut).  We stayed as busy as we could.  The three of us were up there for a week, then Nate and Melissa came to relieve us for a week.

MY KITCHEN!

When we got down, we worked at the Dredge working on getting it all up and running.  Then back up to the glacier for dog day on 10MAY.  Of course the weather wasn't that great for a while... then the skies opened up and all went well.  We were able to get all of the yards up, which can be quite trying at times waiting on the weather.  Our tours started on 14MAY so in the meantime, we all got to get to know each other and once Pete put our trail in, we could then go on runs with the dogs.  THEY NEEDED IT!  Tour day came... and went.  We were... wait for it... weathered!  Don't worry, they got some tours in since then... it hasn't been that bad!  We did get A LOT of snow though!  I hope we aren't going to have to move camp for a while!!!
