Foxy not wanting to go or trying to get one last feel before take off... I ran her in Willow at Russ's Kara aka "Jade 5 inch Bear" in the background. |
The weather was in, the weather was out. Blue skies, no skies. Want to talk about changing it's mind! We needed to get the dogs down, all 240 of them, to the ground. We had mushers from many kennels wanting to get home and get their dogs all situated. I was so happy to have had the chance to spend a few days up on the Mendenhall and not only see the dogs I ran of Scott's, but Russ's dogs too. They all looked so good and I got to have a night with Nibbs :) I love that dog. When I went to go see him when I first got on the glacier, I walked toward his yard and said, "Is that my boyfriend?" He perked right up! I want to say he truly did remember me, but he loves the ladies and well, attention. I'm going with he remembered me.
Emily was the musher that was taking care of Scott's dogs. What a great job she did. You want to talk about someone who has a true love for what she does! She was wonderful!
We got most of the yards down in one day and the rest the next day. Then... the tear down had officially started!
