Camp Patriots and The Sovereign Sportsman

The whole Crew.  Spirit of the North Sled Dog Adventures (that be us) Camp Patriot and The Sovereign Sportsman

Ahhh yes, a lovely warmish morning climbing the Jack Creek Road with the "boys", 70 dogs and Jim, (he be da boss) while going in and out of consciousnesses while Jim was driving our hour commute up to the mountain.  This day was going to be a big day for us.  We were going to be giving a tour to 3 Marine blast victims and a Vietnam Green Beret Veteran blast victim.
Eric, Sam and Trevor.  The Marines...
JJ and Howard.  Howard, you are a good man!
My father was an Underwater Combat Navy Photographer for UDT-13 in Vietnam and his two sisters (my aunts) both served in the Navy.  I value and honor the courage of any man/woman that serves in the military.  Yes, I do like to give a hard time to some branches just jokingly, but hell, all I can say is thank you.  You are brave and a hell of a better person then most that call themselves human and get credit for screwing up other peoples lives for "getting it done".  You are getting your hands dirty, when others would just walk on by.  My hat is off to you!  Where would we be without your courage and determination.
So, Eric Richey, of The Sovereign Sportsman show, and his crew show up bells, whistles, smiles and all up in Big Sky where Spirit of the North Sled Dog Adventures is based out of (that be us).  The veteran's were able to participate in the fun activity through a company out of Libby, Montana called Camp Patriot.  Camp Patriot is a group that enables Veterans to accomplish or participate in activities that they thought that were that of a dream.  The men that run the business are a great group of people that want to give back to those who gave.
So, onward we went.  Sam, Trevor and Eric, the three Marine blast victims and Howard, the Green Beret, listened to Jim as he gave the instructions on how the run a sled.  With these men there was also Cole Hauser.  He was the Hollywood Actor that came with them.  The boys would laugh and told me to call him Brad Pitt.  Instead, I just gave everyone the normal ration of grief I usually do including the TV crew and then on we went.
The ride went well, having Jim bob and weave in and out between dog sled teams (wasn't that bad, he would go to a certain spot, then pass us) with Eddy, the camera man.  Seriously, I have been around a camera crew before for a TV show, these are the guys you want to have around you.  Years back I came back to Maine from California from school and Throwdown with Bobby Flay was filming our favorite eatery.  Want to talk about planned.  The people on their own, nice, very nice, but man, talk about making a show instead of letting it happen.  The crew of Sovereign Sportsman were great.  Hilarious almost like you have known them for a long time.  Didn't get in our way and were just all and all, good ole boys.
So basically, the tour went great... even though Sam did tip the sled...  it warmed my heart.  Not only for the single fact that Jim and Connie (Jim wife, she and her daughter started the business 18 years ago) had given us this opportunity to work with these veterans, but also to get a chance to meet some great people.  Thank you Spirit of the North Sled Dog Adventures, Camp Patriot and The Sovereign Sportsman.  Y'all ROCK!!!
Clockwise: Myself (I'm the girl.. haha) Trevor, Howard, Cole, Sam and Eric.  The Vets and a Celeb I like to call it.

Look at all of these boys!
