Greetings from Alaska
Hello to you ALL!!!
Sarah here. Keepin it short. It's 2030 and I have still have chores to do. All is well here in Alaska. For those of you that are like... what the hell... Alaska? What is Sarah up to now!?!? Well I am here learning the ropes of running sled dogs. Now I wouldn't say I am wanting to become a musher... but it is a wonderful adventure that I am on! I get to see Mt. McKinley almost everyday! What a sight! I haven't met that many people, which believe it or not... I AM GLAD! The dogs are what I am interested in. I am sending some photos of some of the dogs. There's a total of 25. Two are retired and there are five puppies to work with. MAN are they all cute! Each one has it's very own personality. One of the pups I renamed Rowdy... to Roid. It is a girl, but I call her Hemi for short. I think you can get the picture...
I have been on 3 runs so far. Two with Scott Smith on one sled, my best buds brother, he is originally from Camden and has run 4 iditarods as well as many other race. He knows his shit! Sorry parents... Anyway, then my last one I was towed behind Scott with my sled. That was fun! On my first run with Scott, we saw a moose. We have been having -40 degree weather, so we haven't run the dogs in 4 days... Well I haven't gone. Scott went yesterday for the first time and right now he is out.
My body has taken such a deep breath with this cold weather! Well, I would write more, but got things to do and I have to help Scott when he gets in.
Love to you all, stay warm and remember.... make it count!
